ALVA R&C Founder and Executive Director / Has been working in the Foresight, Scenarios, Strategy and Innovation for almost two decades with different responsibilities. Invited Associate Professor in Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) - Lisbon Univ. (“Scenario Analysis”) and Lisbon School of Economics & Management (ISEG) - Lisbon Univ. (“Strategy and Foresight”​, “Competitive Intelligence”​) and responsible for several other Foresight courses in Masters Programmes and for executive training seminars in ISEG-IDEFE - Lisbon Univ.; Researcher at the Centre for Management Studies of IST - Lisbon Univ. and at the Institute of Contemporary History of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Nova University of Lisbon; previously Director of the Department of Strategies and Economic Analysis of the Portuguese Environment Agency, Rapporteur for the Portuguese Green Growth Commitment, Director of the Department of Innovation and Strategic Sectors of the Lisbon City Council, and Director of the Strategic Foresight Unit of the Portuguese Department of Foresight and Planning.

JOÃO FIADEIRO

ALVA R&C Consultant / Invited Professor of the ISCTE (University Institute of Lisbon) Complex Systems Studies PhD Programme where he is responsible for the Social Stigmergy discipline. He is one of the most relevant choreographers of his generation. An extensive part of João's education and training was carried out between Lisbon, New York and Berlin. Later, he joined the Companhia de Dança de Lisboa [Lisbon Dance Company] (1986-88) and the Gulbenkian Ballet (1989-90). In 1990 founded Atelier RE.AL to develop and promote is own peformances but also to promote and present other emergent and transdisciplinar artists. Won the ACARTE/Madalena Azeredo Perdigão Award for his groundbreaking work. Invited artist and speaker in several main European and South American Theatres and Universities; co-director  of the center AND_Lab (2011-14), a research laboratory focused on sustainable coexistence and the relationship between ethics, aesthetics and politics.

MARGARIDA MONTEIRO DE BARROS

ALVA R&C Consultant / Specialized in applied strategic innovation. Senior consultant and manager with more than 15 years' experience in innovation consulting between Spain, UK and Portugal, working in different industrial sectors, companies and markets: Esporão Group; BCSD – Business Council for Sustainable Development; Sintra City Council; Delta; Amorim; Corus (Tata Group); PepsiCo; HPackwell; Askoen; Mercadona; Sintal; Carrefour; Balay; Zanini; Zumex; Nestlé; Publimovel; Pernod Ricard (Martini); Recaro. Since 2005 works in the Sustainability arena focus applying design thinking to help businesses becoming more resilience. PhD in Innovation for Sustainability. From 2011 to 2013 worked in Amorim Cork Composites. Currently, from October 2013 on, is partly dedicated to research at CEG-IST developing research in the area of social innovation and innovation for sustainability. Since January 2016 collaborates with ALVA Research & Consulting. Recently, since September 2016, is an invited lecturer in IST.

DAVID DOS SANTOS

ALVA R&C Consultant / Copywriter at Ivity Brand Corp, Creative & Strategic Consultant at MighT and Facilitator of Creativity and Leadership at This is That. Hold´s a Master Degree in Multimedia Art and Culture. Researcher (project TKB - A Transmedia Knowledge-Base for Performing Arts) and Organiser of the International Conference on “Multimodal Communication”; member and founder of iGesto – research in gesture studies, embodiement and performance; Producer of RE.AL-AND Lab_ Artistic Research and Scientific Creativity; Assistant Director and Movement Director in stage plays at National Theatre São João|TNSJ; Teacher of Theatre and Dance. Choreographer in Solo and in co-creation of original plays such as the Peak Leisure Park in Tanzlabor 21_1 at the Mousonturm Theatre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

MARCO ALVES

ALVA R&C Invited Consultant / Senior Researcher at WavEC - Wave Energy Centre, has been working in the renewable energy sector for over 15 years, from technology assessment and economic analysis to strategic support to companies, governmental bodies and local authorities. Marco is a Mechanical Engineer (Branch of Applied Thermodynamics.), with a Master and a PhD in the area of  Fluid Dynamics and Energy.

PEDRO VIANA

ALVA R&C Invited Consultant / Executive Coordinator at ISCTE Business School (Lisbon); former Professor of Corporate Finance (BSc in Business Management and Administration) in the Methodist University of Angola; previously Consultant in the Finance & Enterprise Performance area, where he was responsible for  the implementation and management of more than 50 projects, namely in strategy, finance, management control, shared services, Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), compliance, risk management and Anti-Money Laundering (AML); worked in Deloitte and Philip Morris, among others. Holds a Master's Degree in Economics and an Executive Master in Financial Markets and Asset Management. Pedro is a doctoral student of the PhD in Management with specialization in Strategy and Entrepreneurship.

ARTUR FURTADO

ALVA R&C Invited speaker / Publications on non-EU affairs / Deputy Head of the Health Program and Chronic Diseases Unit of the European Commission. Collaborator of the Cochrane Review, The Economist, several think tanks in the area of public health, and forecasting initiatives. Previously Head of communication of the Commission's Representation in Lisbon; worked in the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Employment of Portugal, as an Investment Advisor at the Portuguese Investment Agency and in research and consultancy. As a volunteer, occasionally lectures at the university and has organized a Public speaking and Debating Academy. Graduated in Economics, holds a MSc. in Management and a degree in History.

NUNO RODRIGUES

ALVA R&C Invited Consultant / Designer (degree from the University of Aveiro),  founded, with João Garcia, the design studio DPX. Assuring the graphic communication for cultural agents and the creation of graphic identities and communication for municipalities, municipal campaigns and companies, including the layout design of the Jornal do Centro. Ensured graphic communication of the first three editions of the festival Jardins Efémeros. Currently continues to do freelance work for municipal and cultural entities, in the graphic production for events. Often collaborates with the Municipality of Viseu in communication campaigns and editorially, in the municipal magazine. Nuno is responsible for the redefinition of Alva's graphic identity. He continues his independent publications and presenting multidisciplinary improvisation shows, soundtracks, sound design, stage design, etc. He's is also responsible for the museography of the exhibition/show Museu do Falso.
